elevator pitch: it's a script that archives a mastodon instance into a static web site so no urls break but it can be hosted in perpetuity for a thousandth the cost of hosting it as an active instance.
@djsundog Hey, remember those old BBS? There was this "offline" script which you used to upload your messages and download new posts, so you could interact without it having to be online all the time.

@djsundog Instance Simulator: It replays an instance's posts in real-time, delayed however long since you started it.
@djsundog I actually have an old instance archived up in the hope that one day a tool like this might exist.
