I've been pretty sure Instagram was semi-randomly adding likes to posts - this article does nothing to dissuade me:
The Vatican wants Instagram to explain why the Pope's verified account was shown as having liked a model's lingerie photo:
@djsundog at first blush, this smells like a case of whoever runs the account (almost certainly not the pope himself) having multiple accounts, and liking the post from the wrong one
@djsundog or alternately the person running the account accidentally tapping the heart while scrolling. insta constantly offers recommendations so even if the account doesn't follow anyone, it would still show content in the app
@djsundog the folks at the Vatican aren't daft and have good cybersecurity procedures (with surreal touches like vatican.va defaulting to Italian if they can't get enough analytical data on the user or suspect they are a bot) - when they say it wasn't one of their staff looking at naughty pics like a scene from Father Ted (which they have very likely first investigated) I am inclined to believe them..
