I signed up for updates from a retrocomputing store, and by gosh are they some of the most cybre updates I've ever seen. I don't really even understand half of it, but it seems like @djsundog's sort of thing.
"We’re glad to announce an old item has made a return to the ReActiveMicro Store: The TransWarp GS Upgrade Service, 816 CPU, High Speed 32k Cache Card, High Speed GAL Set, CPU Cable, Oscillators, and Cooling Fan.
Finally, everything you need to upgrade your AE TransWaeg GS is in one convient place."
(I think "TransWaeg" is a typo, but it almost makes it better somehow.)
@djsundog@aschmitz The TransWarp GS is one of the two accelerators available for the Apple IIGS.
Stock, the IIGS has a 2.8 MHz 65C816.
The TWGS did 7 MHz and had 8-32 kiB of writeback cache (because the bus speed was unchanged of course), but there's upgrades (and in a few cases downgrades - the GALs mentioned) to go faster. Sometimes much faster. Sometimes you can get 18.75 MHz.
