DJ Sundog - from the toot-lab @djsundog

I am going to need to find a pcmcia to cf or sd adapter that plays nice with the to get running on it. Wonder if I can find one locally.

@djsundog you're gonna have to steal one from a high-security mega-corporation office, I bet

@Efi I have been training for this caper my whole life

@djsundog I have a pcmcia memstick reader, my best way to transfert files with old things

@djsundog One of the nice things about the IBM Workpad z50 was that it had both a CF card and a PCMCIA slot. So I can use a CF card to boot NetBSD, and PCMCIA for a network card. (Windows CE on that machine supports NE2000 PCMCIA cards too.)

@galaxis the Dreamwriter has a 10baseT nic on-board which is nice but for storage I'm left with pcmcia and 1.44mb floppy so a pcmcia-to-cf adapter is definitely in my future

@djsundog @galaxis WAVELAN (also don't bother with NetBSD, it "runs" on this kind of HW but usually only boots; despite the memes, NetBSD's hardware support isn't as great as people would let you believe)

@calvin @galaxis not sure I'm ready to try and set up a pre-802.11 wlan in the lab tbh ;)

@djsundog @calvin Oh, I'm well aware... The netbsd-hpcmips mailing list never was was high-traffic, and bitrot affects rarely used platforms with no active developers first...

@djsundog Do you have a Fry's Electronics near you?

Fry's sells (sold, as of 2 years ago) CF->PCMCIA adapters.
